But for our money, Flipendo and Descendo are the spells you should prioritize.

You unlock it by completing Madam Kogawa’s Assignment 1.įorce spells are the hardest to recommend in this game, as they’re all extremely useful for specific situations, you learn Accio almost immediately after arriving at Hogwarts in your first charms class, and there’s nothing better than flinging someone off a cliff or into a wall with Depulso.

With Glacius’s cooldown being much faster than Arresto Momentum, its debuff to make the enemy take more damage, and its talent upgrade to make it damage all enemies in the area, we recommend prioritizing it over the other control spells. While Levioso is a great early-game spell to get enemies airborne, it becomes drastically less useful once you have Flipendo. It can also be upgraded to act as a magic missile-like swarm of homing projectiles. This spell is invaluable when surrounded by Inferi, as they have to be burning before they can be damaged.Ĭonfringo on the other hand has a much greater range than Incendio, and is useful to set troublesome enemies on fire from afar if you want to keep your distance. Incendio, which you can unlock first through Professor Hecat’s Assignment 1, does twice as much damage as Confringo, has a slightly quicker cooldown, and can be upgraded through your talents page to create an AOE ring around you, burning all enemies in your immediate vicinity. Setting enemies on fire is the best way to do damage over time, and you have two spells that can do that, Incendio, and Confringo.
